Class details
Rebound Therapy assists participants who have mild to severe physical disabilities and from mild to profound and multiple learning disabilities, including dual sensory impairment and autistic spectrum. The therapy is used to facilitate movement, promote balance, promote an increase or decrease in muscle tone, promote relaxation, promote sensory integration, improve fitness and exercise tolerance, and to improve communication skills. Alongside the therapy program we will be using Winstrada Awards Scheme Huddersfield Functional Index – Award Schemes.
The Winstrada Awards Scheme allows accurate recordings of each child’s progress with special needs. This system was devised to help and support people with a variety of disabilities and levels of achievement by recording each requirement on a sheet and a recorded pass mark is made. They are worked on 3 levels of attainment and thereafter can lead into mainstream Trampolining.
For those children with more profound needs, the Huddersfield Functional Index is worked alongside the Winstrada scheme. This will enable you to accurately measure and record outcomes of people who would not be able to achieve a pass just through the Winstrada sheet. By giving them a score instead, the level of attainment for certain groups of exercises and skills over a period of time; you are able to record their improvement more accurately.
All activities are led by our fully qualified coaching team and delivered in a fun and structured manner.
